“House of Cards”

Colluding, brooding…petulant
That’s where all my money went
Some was earned and all was spent
Snort the drug, forget the rent
Stimulants can’t always make you higher
Did work fast, but I was fired
Dealer victim to a wire
Fuzz got tipped and then conspired

Spiderman could never account for the World Wide Web
Yeah, Peter Parker’s boss is losing his patience with recent sales
And they caught him on video
Youtube video from a street-side cell phone
And now an independent study is deducting what neighborhood he’s from
From an excel chart of first-hand accounts
From women who are experts in body type and how men walk, spea
kFrom tabloid assumptions on bad-boy corruption
They’ll figure it out soon
Because Peter Parker’s boss is losing his patience with recent sale
sHe smells profit, off it…Don’t scoff it
The internet is a valuable tool

“2 bedroom, 1 ½ bath”

The virulent vixen
Sick of the kitchen
Watching her husband mow.
A turbulent bitchin'
Stage fright during pissin'
He's not just an average Joe.
His clothes are endearing
Not many near him
She watches from the window.
Tired of sex bland
Wires at desk and
Watching the porn star blow.
They're not really liberal
Vote in the middle
Maybe they'll meet some swingers
Dog it does dribble
Fish it will nibble
And quibble for rings on their fingers.

"Ancient Colors"

Decrepit prism,
Witticism...
How long will it last?
Cryptic wisdom,
Witticism...
We all need the past.

“Nation Fate”

An inextricable bray
Beyond the clay
Adobe was here before stucco
A furtive fear
American beer
Not Tecate, but golly
We fucked 'em
Annexed the land
White sun-burnt hand
The curlicue Jew is still Eastern
PiƱon at feet
Coyote wants meat
Ablution, one Comancheria night
Natives still here
But in this one year
No nation means no mean to fight
They stay alive
The tribe can still thrive
But they aren't Mexicans...
ALRIGHT?!

2013

There never was a doctor's office
That escaped the early traces
Of the symptoms worse than coughs and
escaped the forlorn faces.
There never was a doctor trained
Who escaped this early lesson
Of the symptoms worse than sprained
It's a part of their profession.
Death is that which binds us all
There's different ways encountered
Some in beds with family call
Or quickly , swiftly found hurt.
Grateful for each day, and after that the night
Even if the fates align, I'll still put up a fight.

"Peripatetic"

Is there a road that will never change?
Is it still hidden or is it marked plain?
Is it for certain to always be there
Or does the land someday melt into air?

Should we go find it and move somewhere else?
Should we go loudly or should we use stealth?
Should we stay there and move all our things
Or is that a problem for the challenge it brings?

"Concepts"

Building better
Raw performance
More sophisticated from inception to launch
We not only succeeded
We also laid the ground work for others
Tackle one of the greatest
New grassroots
A lot of things could happen here

[Note: This was on a funny prompt for a class. We had to make a poem out of circling phrases / words in a magazine article. I think it's weird.]

"Satellite "

Corporate beams beyond the sky
It makes me laugh
And I don’t know why
Corporate dishes on the ground
Where else is magic metal found?

"Technology & Theology"

I don’t have a story that could possibly scare you
I won’t have a motive to possibly care to
We know some things that could there true
But pictures are needed to recall the hair-do
Of fathers and brothers and mothers and such
Photos are ways that we still keep in touch
And while you can say that we still meet up
I have shit somewhere else and they’re still an us
Some saved on a disc and some in a box
The patterns of technology were interlocked
Polaroid turned digital the older we got
It’s weird to remember but I like it a lot
Time makes me oldest and Catholic schools
Taught me to read and obey all the rules
They were very nice and Carlin is too
But in his standup he portrayed them as rude
That wasn’t my life but I laughed at some parts
They taught me at math and they taught me at arts
I believe in a God but sometimes it’s hard
Worse than the days when I played in the yard
Sometimes I say Allah
Sometimes I say Christ
I wish I could say that I lived life twice
To find which path is dirt and if one is paved
But I suppose that everyone’s saved
Like I said first it was nothing traumatic
But that’s how I stopped practicing Catholic
The photograph changed but you still have to snap it
And you still need some others to interact with

The dumpster in the corner of my otherwise-clean campus

It’s not really what you want around
But there’s some in every town
It’s not abrasive for the sound
But the stench can sure compound
Sure, it’s better than the ground
Where litter is so often found
Manure has pipes to take it down
While this will hold before the mound
A middle man for every fill
All man’s waste becomes a hill
The man in charge? His name is Bill
He’s feeling large, there’s always swill
Or soot and slime, the waste from plates
Leftover from most every place
Yeah, you should have seen his face
To this guy, it’s scenic waste
Profits reap if you consume
Well that’s just what I’d assume
Keep it up, there’s always room
From full to not like a new moon

"The War on Terror, an interesting way to experience puberty"

A generation of orphans
will hardly feel endorphins
The Child of 12 in 2001
Could have a son, he's now 21
They rise from the rubble
the next wave of terrorists
You can act pissed
but that's only the gist
Ideologies of anti-war
have done nothing for
their world's poor

Fuck CNN, Fox, and the peacock;
Luck got you in, but we cannot be stopped.
Plasma propaganda pretends peaceful thoughts
When we invaded Iraq, the kid's balls just dropped.

[Note: I actually condone the Iraq War now! Isn't that funny? Long story... at least I can rhyme.]
“Interstate Something”

an asphalt serpent weaves through rolling hills
the ancient and the contemporary mingle, gel
tollbooths generate consistent capital
-alongside dynamite grooves
-alongside frozen Technicolor signs

some call this road "disaster"
I say, "what a beautiful bastard -
Slither towards the seaside faster!"

2010
"Seek Nothing, Seek Everything"

Preparation based in
painful elation
an indication
of positive polar vibration
all of which towards
the self-realization
(that)
the train is the station
you rode your destination
Destiny is merely actualization
